At a meeting of NATO foreign ministers in Brussels the organisation’s Secretary-General, Anders Fogh Rasmussen, accused Russia of not respecting its international commitments over Ukraine.

“Today we see no change in Russia’s behaviour. So we have no option but to maintain the suspension of practical civillian and military cooperation, there will be no business as usual with Russia until Russia comes back into line with its international obligations,” he said.

British Foreign Secretary William Hague warned Russia it could face tougher EU sanctions unless it acts to stop fighting in eastern Ukraine.

Meanwhile US Secretary of State John Kerry met with Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin before the meeting, where the two were due to discuss the ongoing crisis in the country.

NATO suspended all practical cooperation with Moscow after its annexation of the Crimea region.
