In Egypt, at least eight people are being treated for injuries after homemade bombs went off at four metro stations and a courthouse in Cairo.
Authorities said the one of the explosives blew up at Shubra El-Kheyma station during the morning rush hour but normal services resumed shortly afterwards.
“This is wicked and cowardly terrorism. The fact that there is more than one blast is evidence to that it is organised. The harsh and strict manner by which these organisations are dealt with should not upset anyone,” said Mohamed Abdel Zaher, governor of Kalyoubia.
Egyptian security forces have been staging a crackdown on Islamists since the fall of Mohammed Mursi and have killed hundreds and arrested thousands of suspects.
