BLACK IS THE DARK OF THE NIGHT
Black is the dark of night
Deep is the quiet and calm –
Waking before the world does
Brings a special peace –
I write these lines
And begin the day
When others still sleeping -
All the world is mine at peace
And when the morning light comes
I will be astonished by the beauty
Of God’s world.
