Did you ever stumble on a ghost town?
They are so interesting to see
I can almost hear the spirits
Talking ever so softly to me
It’s hard to believe they are gone
Those folks who lived in the towns
As you see the empty buildings
Grass sparse and parched and brown
And the graveyards are almost eerie
One I was excited to find
Must have been an epidemic for
Little children died at the same time
Some ghost towns are preserved
Folks must have really cared
Too often ghost towns are lost in time
For very little of them were spared
Another part of history, my friend
I hope you too can hear the sound
Somewhere in the middle of nothing
Are wonderful old ghost towns!
