The historic Vigiliane Festival is underway in the Italian city of Trento. It’s a week-long celebration of patron saint San Vigilio.
A series of folk events are planned, including a parade along the streets of the city centre and a parody of the punishment once reserved for blasphemers. It sees someone locked in a cage, dangled from the San Lorenzo bridge over the river below.
The festivities culminate on June 26.
