Argentina will submit a plan for talks over how to settle its debts with all creditors, the country’s lawyers said on Monday.
The move aims to diffuse a decade long legal dispute in the US which has threatened to push the Latin American state into a new default.
Buenos Aires has described some of the investors it owes as ‘Vultures’.
Until a recent US Supreme Court ruling Argentina had refused to talk with a small group of hedge funds holding out for full payment on bonds they bought at a big discount following the country’s default in 2001.
Over the weekend the Argentine government published adverts in leading US newspapers criticising the recent ruling in favour of the fund holders.
