Telefonica has offered 295 million euros for Mediaset Spain’s 22% stake in pay-TV business Digital Plus.
This latest deal comes after a previous offer in May of 725 million euros for a 56% stake in Digital Plus owned by Spanish media company Prisa.
Prisa accepted the offer but it is waiting for regulatory approval.
If the deal goes through it would give Madrid-based Telefonica full control of Digital Plus, which owns the rights to Spain’s lucrative La Liga football league.
