I came to see a white birch tree
learned language to say
it's a fine sight
I trained to work
my hunger was fed
and there were occasions to fight
travelers came tossing words
telling stories within our walls
and a man better stand behind what he says
when another man says he calls
you can brag on your ancient buildings
and pyramids that no one will see
but for now we'll agree there never can be
something finer than this white birch tree
