Alfred Ramos - Love Slipping Away

2014-06-18 8

Our love flew out the window
Tossed out like an old pair of shoes
It went out soaring like an eagle
Glad to hear the news
If I could hold my life in my hand
It would be something hard to understand
It would be something I could not plan
Excuses passed around like cheap wine
Excuses that turned to lies by design
Excuses that hung on a tattered rope
Choking any chance of securing hope
Our love is drowning in a river of despair
Floating aimlessly in the current without a care
And as it slips out to sea
Our grip of love slips away tragically
The truth was hiding behind the lies
That we let flourish as love’s disguise
What a paltry game we played
The battle lost before the dragon was slayed
