While I nodded, nearly napping
suddenly there came a tapping
as someone suddenly rapping at
my chamber door
Oh, my chamber door
why do you rap at someone suddenly
rapping
I crawling slow and below
to where the long road
bent to the underground
Two roads offered,
diverged
He,
who once knocked
at my chamber door
Told me so,
to take the shortcut road
Advised me,
that ugly fool
also introduced him
as the Old Scratched
Pushing, he laughs away,
And up I go,
And down I go,
The seat creaks ominously,
The rope begins to fray,
Rubbing against a bough.
Eyes and wings and souls of black
The very essence of true beauty
To bring the chaotic era back
Is their one and only duty,
that is he,
who my chamber meat.
