A baby’s face, so innocent and bright,
with eyes so wide and shining with delight;
Safe in the comfort of a warm embrace,
the love that blossoms in a mother’s face.
A horse that stretches out his noble head,
well curried, groomed, well exercised and fed.
His mane full flowing in the summer breeze,
pacing the meadowed grass with graceful ease.
A sailing ship that follows down the wind,
top gallants set, and all sails safely pinned.
Straining and surging through a foaming sea.
All of these sights are beautiful to me.
But most of all, the love within those eyes,
the warming smile that shines for me alone.
This is the beauty I would idolise,
this is the face that bids me.....
