Alex Kenneh - Maintaining

2014-06-18 3

Hot looks fill in the field of vision,
Voids left by gracious figures,
Frequent games of pick up,
Curses, down on knock knees,
Worthless, Exemplar set examples,
God is, you are say it - I am,
Right and wrong, Sundays early mornings,
Lighthouse, upon a rock,
These commandments, show the way,

Cold gazes rendered in after thoughts,
Tendencies remain distant, hesitant
Of parallel lines laid to floors,
Where change refused, turned
To rubble, coins mimic pebbles,

Grudges from every degree,
Lives judged, confined in concrete,
Thrown towels, heads tipped,
Spared no sublime thrown fists,
Hit or run, left facing,
Shaded struggle, indifference,
Disguised as acceptance,
Handshakes, holidays,
To decrease the marches,
Sunrise atrocities,
But Sunset monstrosities,
May include moments of silence,
Apologies a hint of empathy,
Bowed heads whispers of change.
