Mugdha Khedkar - Nature's fury

2014-06-18 48

The ocean came in, the earth did shake,
this wasn't a dream, they were wide awake.

The violent ocean chased them with mast-high waves,
people knew their fate- they would soon end in graves.

Thousands of people were washed away,
they never thought this was their last day.

They were innocent, they were naive,
shocked to see nature claim their life.

The survivors are going through immense pain,
they know their world will never be the same.

It didn't end here, more disasters did follow,
what was left was a country shocked with sorrow.

Nature, do you know how ruthless you have been?
this destructive side of you, we had never before seen.

You shattered infinite dreams within a second,
a country of broken hearts, how will you mend?

God! This is inevitable, we all do know,
don't let the aftershocks add to their woe.

Please listen to our prayer at least-
May all of them rest in peace!
