Reyvrex Questor Reyes - Love Sonnet 113: 'That song, so sweet, sweet music to my heart, '

2014-06-17 23

That song, so sweet, sweet music to my heart,
Has played so many times to my delight,
Or countless since the time my daydreams start,
As it persists to also drone each night;
It might occur that such a tune is rote,
Yet some variance was surely made, I fear,
For there’s a chance for me to miss a note
Each time the object of the song is near;
But wondered I, what melody results,
Should she herself move close, much more closely,
And as a consequence the heart exults?
I grant not knowing, I have yet to see,
…….If nightingale, once with mate stops singing,
…….Could it be from there on was rough sailing?
