A.j. Binash - Creatures of the Night

2014-06-17 8

I think of no.
That is,
I think of amphetamine ghosts
Patrolling these streets.
Smelling of coffee
And used condoms.

Behind split curtains
Strangers studying sleep patterns.

Questions:
What makes a heart pulse
Or
What makes it sleep?

Disguising city lights
A mask of brush strokes
And mundane color patterns.

Smoking cigarettes
To help explain a sunrise.
“Orange horizon
That expands
At the tip
Of my cherry”

Thinking of prayer.
Thinking of Confession.

Abusing sin
As an example to struggle.

Poverty stricken diligence.
Pit stains
Without antiperspirant.

Smiles
Comprised of yellow teeth.

By God!
I think I have perfected my kneel.

Don't hold a breath
While I practice how to sigh.
