Carlton Carr - Poems On Poetry: Words On Fire

2014-06-17 16

A plethora of poems
A surfiet of alliteration
An aberration of rhythm and rhyme
An overindulgence of metaphors
A superfluity of cliche's;
I am spoilt for truth
And can no longer see
?he poems for the words
That crowd around me

Our words replace in language
?he silence of despair
We share our joys and insights
And touch the yearning pain
That hides, that needs to be, that glides
That aches for breath
That longs for desire
That sets our words on fire
That leads us to our death
