Make poverty history,
put an end to misery.
be brave, America,
give life to Africa.
Help it smash the chains
of greed, ill-gotten gains.
Bite the bullet and give,
let Africa breathe and live.
Once, a Council in secret convened,
unjustly a death sentence decreed.
an innocent on the Cross bled,
no one dared to come to his aid.
The G8 summit, too, will in secret meet,
will the rich embrace the poor and greet?
Will the condemned innocents
be freed from ills, poverty and Aids?
