A couple in Long Island was left stunned after finding a python hiding in a couch.
A couple in Long Island got a startling surprise on moving day. Peter Wang and his wife had been cleaning out a vacant basement apartment. During the efforts, the wife moved a sofa cushion and found herself staring at a python.
Upon arrival, they located the 3-foot long Ball Python resting on the couch. An upstairs resident was reportedly going to take care of the creature, but it got loose and couldn’t be found.
SPCA staffers safely removed the non-venomous python. No legal charges will be filed in the case, as Ball Pythons are legal to own as pets.
In another snake-related incident from last year, a 22-year-old mom in New South Wales woke up to find a nearly 6-foot-long python wrapped around her 2-year-old daughter’s arm. During removal efforts, the snake bit the child in the hand, but luckily she was fine.
