Serenity Mieczkowski - One-Leaf Clover

2014-06-17 0

If the world ceased movement,
would everything come to an end?
Constantly moving, seeking improvement,
always following the newest trend.
So afraid of dying
that we never slow down.
Memories of laughing and crying
or acting like a clown,
all forgotten in place of a busy life.
Endless development and financial worry
shall only end in strife.
Stepping around in an endless flurry,
We forget to enjoy life's pleasures.
Such things as fun no longer hold meaning
and money and work become false treasures.
On the deathbed after a life of gleaning.
But much too late has it been realized,
when your life is almost over.
The world you so idolized,
was as unlucky as a one-leaf clover.
