The glow of a warm heart is hidden by its suppressor
It is the only one you can't alone repair
This tear isn't self-inflicted
To justify would be to lie
The pain is tucked away
It rises over the years like bile
Setting your throat afire
The feeling is agonizing
But all you see is a soft grimace
You pay no notice
To what you have started
You stand there with you lighter
You are careless with this mighty element
My world is overturned
You walk away your laugh in the breeze
While I lie here burning inside out
I close my eyes with defeat
But I feel a chilled breeze
It chills the flame
I open my eyes to see
An open heart
It holds me
The soft whisper
Says
I'm sorry
