Zora Mamabolo - Migraine

2014-06-17 8

''You will feel better after you sleep''
'Don't worry a little rest will make you right as rain'

They do not understand the pain.
My mind is plagued and my neck is stiff with ache.
How can I sleep! ?

I am afraid to close my eyes.
Will I see the squirrels play?
Will I see again the swing my father made me in the oak tree?

I kneel and pray like mother taught me because she doesn't understand the pain.

Calm and peace surround me.
But still, there is pounding in my ears. And I long to hear the trumpet call
as I surrender unto sleep.
