Dilantha Gunawardana - Redemption For A Dirty Old Man

2014-06-17 11

I kept you beyond my shadow
Apart in lips, and erased from memory
I let go of all that you are - A child incarnated in to deity
A goddess that torments me
In the counteroffensive of love
On belligerent soils of lust

For nubile lips dose my existence
With the sweet thunder of a kiss
Electricity that emancipates in subtle bursts of bliss
For I am the man longing to inhabit your body
In a journey of transience – like a butterfly on a rose
Inebriated of your nectar, the moisture on your lips

I am no sugar daddy, not even a ghost of Nabokov
I am a man seeking solace in the spirits of amnesia
Lingering like a river, meandering to the ocean
For what I cannot possess, succumbs in desire
Like a tree wilted in the droughts of loneliness

So forgive me for not loving you
And emancipate me from your spell
Shred my lust with your indifference
Let me soar like an eagle, out of your sight
Flying away discover the hold of heaven

For age is not a mere number
It’s a ravine that separates us
Engulfing my longings and your innocence
In my road to perdition

We are but walking on parallel lines of fate
To the same horizon – to time!
