Ernesto Torres - Those Bloodshot eyes

2014-06-17 6

My breathing was labored
and my saliva was blood flavored
coming from deep in my through
staying away from the battle being fought

I was hiding in a closet
In a torn apart building
in a kitchen next to a fuaset
then there was a explosion that left my ear ringing

It was a suffocating dark
and all that was heard was a bark
from those German dogs
that followed my scent through the fog

Every once in a while
i heard a scream, closer than a mile
then a gunshot
furthering there evil plot.

There is a terrible banging
and again the ringing
As the door flew open
my heart stopped that moment

I clung on to the inside of the closet door
like it was my life and more.
the room was full of voices and footsteps
everytime the dog came near, it made my heart leaped

I looked through a hole
and what a toll
it had on my soul
to see those bloodshot eyes

Now they know
were i hide
the plan to blow
this place ski-hi

I scurried back in terror
as sweat oozed from every pore
they shouted and gatherred
as all ready to slaughter

In hurry i reached for my gun
instead i pulled a pin
this situation got so much less fun
i knew this was the end

Bolting out of the closet
leaving the grenade there
tripping over a blanket
live was not fair

Bullets flew every which way
then, the grenade blew us away
off the building
as it went of destroying

Now there is a piece of glass through my chest
and i feel frozen at best
my throat filled with blood
as i remembered those blood shot eyes
