Andrew Bell - Stuffed Bears

2014-06-17 5

He can hear them down the hall again
Angry sounds through the wall again
Broken plates of white and cream
A broken family and broken dream
But his tears are not like theirs
Final notices and stuffed bears
Mum and Dad are not the same
Full of hate and full of blame
They spiral through eternal shame
Without a dollar to their name
How easy hearts and paper tears
Overdues and stuffed bears
He cries on the walk home from school
Kids these days can be so cruel
They laugh at the clothes he wears
Worn out shoes and stuffed bears
The suns sets on another sad day
His father stares with nothing to say
He says nothing but he knows he cares
Because of his smile and his stuffed bears.
