Stephen Cahill Furlong - My Saviour Is She

2014-06-17 10

What would I do without you
Knowing that I had no friend to turn to
Whenever I had a lot on my mind
Or my rough past stabbed me from behind?

I phone you as often as possible
But I quickly run out of phone-credit.
I’m not earning enough money to afford some often,
And losing touch with you after ten minutes, I dread it.

I love you and I can’t say it enough.
You’re the face I want to wake up to every sunrise.
I can no longer imagine being with anyone else,
But the fact you have mutual feelings is a big surprise.

I lost all my closest and dearest friends before,
But soon after, I managed to gain you.
You arrived at the best time possible;
Surely you were a magic stone that fate herself threw.

You are an angel sent from Heaven above,
My guardian angel to rescue me from misery.
When people ask me who my new lover is from afar,
I respond with pride, “My saviour is she! ”
