Neela Nath - Down

2014-06-17 7

It's a pleasure...
Walking down, down
the memory lane,
peeping thru the
windows and watch
the wide sky, and
enjoy the windy
days, sunshine, rain
and cloud, the meadows
and its kissing point
where the blue merges
with it, in boundless
boundary! Everything.
My dead birdie Chippu
is alive and singing
song in the cage!
The Tamarind, Mango, Coconut
Guava trees haven't been
cut yet, and the drops
of Sun ray is being
filtered thru the
leafy sky.........
Grandma is keeping
pickle-jars under
sun, to keep it away
from fungus and worms!
rainbow-shouldered
Chanticleer is playing
with his friends!
Simon, the gardener
watering the rose plants,
takes the seeds of
sun-flower to keep
them to the store-house.
Mom is much young,
smilingly holding
the tasks of busy day.
My dad is in a meeting.

Going down the memory lane
I watch this morning,
the same morning,
bright and shinning
with the freshness
of a universal day.
So many mornings
passed and will be,
but, only one morning
painted in the canvas,
will never fade away!
The morning of my
never-fading childhood! !
