Charles Darkly - Yellow Jacket

2014-06-17 8

Yellow jacket's kisses taste familiar but they
burn caustic and unusual not at all
sweet like I remember
Like she's turned her back but unsheathes
a false stiletto and stabs with slashing emotions
She used to flaunt flashing gold threatening
alluring half smiles but now
she wears purgatory's sickly pale pastels
while she keeps her creaking ebon knuckles
fluttering over bone dust ivories
Playing dirges for the crushed and pitiful remains
of all that don't pay homage to the
-spawn-
-slave-
-queen-
of their hexagonal prison complex
If yellow jacket swings her stinger into my ribcage
like a saturnine iron cracking my bones
in massive aggressive fool frontal assault
I'd silently take such a senseless beating
with no protest
I've never been a mourning person
but even when they carried compelling hints
of sweet nectar
her serrated embraces tore deeper
than any sting ever could
