Robert Edgar Burns - Washed Hands

2014-06-17 5

If you are handling meat
You simply must wash your hands.
I even wash vegetables
Before they go in the pan.

Pilate thought hand washing
Would free him from his shame.
He should have used blood,
For it turned out just the same.

Not all of the hand washing
Or the soap found in the world,
Can free you from His wrath
When hurting His boy or girl.

If folded in prayer
And forgiveness you seek,
Then the cleansing is real.
You will find sweet relief.

Hands are so marvelous
When patting one on the back.
Don't raise them in anger
Or for sure you'll get whacked.
