John A. Hancock - John Keats 1795-1821

Shelley's adonis in whom the fire of life
Twas just a dying flame
A dropp of blood in candle light ensuring
Mystique enshrined your name
The glow of youth betray'd you
Like Bruce and White heaven bade
To gift the world in rhymes of beauty
Ere the scourge of poets to early a memory made.
Oh fervent lover of Chapman's Homer
Now in the heavenly realm of gold
To brief thy spirit burn'd in thee
Yet what power your poetice words still hold
