You might feel love lives no deep in my heart,
Because I never once caressed your curls,
Nor ever played passion with Cupid’s dart,
Pranks nor love sports, a ship a sail in lulls;
But let me in the name of love confess:
Shallow love seems to use sweeter a tongue,
As lesser pens pen too pompous a song,
The more I love the less I need to stress.
Deep waters of depth the serene most are,
Shallower the streams greater goes the roar;
True love stays steady like a polar star,
So stands my love harboured in heart’s deep core.
It is a long-lasting perennial song
That one day ye sure shall cherish for long.
