he just got out
of the joint again...
caught dealing hillbilly heroin...
has that far away look
in his eyes when he talks,
part of him, a big part,
still locked up!
remember riding with him
in a 'vette,40 years ago...
when the wolf in him still hunted,
120 mph....
now the wolf is dead,
he's mostly dead,
maybe i'm dying too,
maybe we're all dead...
and the words on his headstone read:
wolf killed for pelt!
