breathing in,
i take in the pains of hunger,
the ache of loss,
the despair of homelessness.
breathing out,
i exhale oneness, sameness,
and peace.
breathing in,
i take in prejudice, hatred,
fear, and anger,
and the blackness of greed.
breathing out,
i exhale forgiveness,
understanding, and compassion.
