You do not cry for the poor
Nor the children without
You watch them with unamused eyes
Watching them go without
This is what I despise
You with your wealth
Come forth and become the poor
Then maybe you will cry
Then maybe you will understand
How it feels to almost die.
You selfish people
In your comfort you watch
Children slave after you
And watch them prepare your supper for you
you selfish people take their place
and understand your disgrace.
You ignorant tyrants
Have you no heart?
For you do not batter an eyelid
When you see a child starve
What if it was your own?
What if it was you?
Trying to survive
In the cold morning dew.
Stiff with cold in the cold winter months
And blistering with heat in the summer.
Do you not see what they endure?
While you ride your high-horse
And watch people struggle?
Face without a name
