The sun dies
The star cries
The moon waxes and wanes
And the years go by
The sand slips
And the bell chimes
Forever and never, you and I
We scream at nothing
At something
And watch the time tick by
Now is a memory
Tomorrow is a mystery
And all things are history
Omnipotent, it hold us here
Contingent upon stronger forces
Shaping and bending at will
And the years go by
Her hair grows longer
He gets taller
Forever and never, you and I
Even as the skin will crumple
Eyes remain open and wide
And still we yell at nothing
At something
The quickest moments
Are the ones we miss most
Missing the chances we didn't take
Never regreting the decisions we did make
The hours waste away
And the years go by
Filled with hugs and kisses
And everyone we will miss
Forever and never, you and I
Treasured moments tucked away
Moments spent in arms
Kept within an aging vault
Will we always yell at nothing?
At something?
We will know eventually
The sun dies
And star cries
And moon waxes and wanes
And the years go by
Autumn Winds
