Zoe Adams - Upon The Window Sill

2014-06-17 0

I hate the way you looked at me,
I hate the way you stared.
I hate the way you flipped me off like you never even cared.
I hate the way you treated me,
I hate that I was scared.
I hate the way you only thought of how better off you faired.
Through all of the things you did to me,
The torture and the pain,
I was simply left standing there,
Outside in the rain.
And though you always said to me
‘We’ll always be together’
Only now do I see
‘Always’ doesn’t mean forever.
You always said you loved me,
You really, really did,
Ours was a bond so strong no one could forbid.
No matter wat they said to me,
No matter how they sighed,
My love for you was something not to be denied,
And after a whole year,
I love you still,
And your picture is there,
Upon the window sill.
