Ron Pate - Eyes of Light

Eyes of Light

A warm fall wind abruptly transitions to a chilling cold.  A subsequent wind that stings as it touches your skin and surrounds your soul leaving you reminiscent of what once was and the thought of what's to begin.

Eyes of the night are truant to the cloud covered pitch held in tonight's sky.

Nearby cottonwood trees shake and shiver as if they were alive, but all along they've been preparing for an upcoming unfortunate night.

Eyes of the night are hiding just out of sight, ready to peer within the darkness once again.

Icy teardrops ripple the stagnant streams nearby letting the wildlife know of the impending bitter cold.

Eyes of light, hidden from sight, reveal yourself, ensuring a glimmer of hope on this cold bitter night.
