Pradip Chattopadhyay - On the Road

2014-06-17 1

On that windless day
Sultriness sat heavily on him,
A convecting hollowness
Grooved in his chest
Spread to the throat
He was gasping.

Words echoed inside
But couldn’t make their way
As he sank into darkness.

Around him
Crowd of oblivious men
was without a clue.

Remained unheard a garble
Speed…dial…2.
