I look into the wooded dark
The dying leaves, the rotting bark
The cold wind blows from the side
All that is terror and fear is inside
I look away, hoping for light
All I see is the moon and it's night
The grass so soft under me
The tress so tall above the scene
I begin my walk towards the haunted woods
The terror and anger inside there stood
I pass the first tree, then another
I pray to god there is no one, no other
Within I see, darkness and green
The path long travelled, the path long seen
Takes me past the woods
Takes me past the terror that there stood
Fog engulfs my sight
I see nothing, not even the night
Sounds from behind me, sound again
My heart raced, the sound sounded again
Footsteps closer, running to me
I can do nothing, I can no longer see
Surrounded by fear, caught by it
The path way long taken, the path that was never lit
Closer it comes, I feel it running, running to me
Oh god please don't let this be the end of me
I feel it nearing, I scream in fear
There is only quiet now, It is here
