Michael Biondi - The Apathetic Costume

I wouldn’t care if our night sky fell,
I would watch stars cause cracks in the roads we once walked upon.
Like emotional fists into a mirror that reflects memories,
I know this cannot happen, but why cant a boy dream?

And I wouldn’t mind seeing every bright green
become a dull black or brown,
I would allow my body to heat up,
as every tree in the world goes up in flames.
Like a lighter put to the corner of a picture,
I know this probably wont happen, but why cant a boy wonder?

And I wouldn’t think twice if every bird died,
I would watch their wings become pointless.
Like observing a plane with a pilot that forgot how to fly,
I know this might happen, but does a boy really need to cry?

I wouldn’t flinch if a gun was pointed at my head,
I would calmly whisper “shoot me, I’m already dead”
Like an emotional boy trying to act tough,
I know this could happen, so why can’t a boy try and bluff?
