Hermanus Hendrik Janse van Vuuren - Surviving

2014-06-16 4

Every breath a labour.
Every dropp of blood a loss.
These severed arteries,
That are keeping me alive,
Were cut for the purpose
That we should survive.

Flesh stripped of dignity.
Lying on a bed of grass,
Lone the ruler of my destiny,
Fates hand stayed at last...

Living for one purpose,
Breathing only the goal.
Yet life still be taken,
From those who deserved it more!

With the sword, my life,
Taken so others could live,
I'm the cause of this indignity.
Taking from others, so I could give.
