There are people here who call themselves poets
Self-ordained, passionate people...and they let you know it
They rate far more than they write
Seek only the ratings limelight
Shallow souls who are sore losers in life's fight
and claim quality is their plight
but they rate upwards of 20 -30 poems a day
All glowing reviews
All 10's
That's how they roll and play!
But they try to sweep this little fact away
'under the rug' as they say!
Some are crafty and clever
Their glowing praise for you will grab your lever
But their praise is as meanligless as a smokers cough
because they praise so regularly...so oft
Till you're addicted the praise and can't cut it off!
And this is how they suck you in
to their Hell bent aim to win some poet prize
hoping all along you won't catch on and realize
And if you do they'll scorn you
Will throw you out like an old shoe
because you're no longer a tool
You'll be tossed out like a fool
I'm one who runs away from such crap
They give honest people a bad rap
Instead of dealing with their phony praise
I'd rather talk to someone real....or take a nap
Rather than clicking away with a computer on my lap
They'll sit and read this poem and try to discount it
or shield it from view
because they want to have a lock on you
If you send out poems for their review
the'll suck your blood until it turns blue
but they'll throw you out as soon as they're through with you
that's the game as it's played... it's what they do
They're looking for more suckers...just like you!
You're marked as one as soon as you solicit others
to read your poem and review
They'll make a monkey out of you
If we all did that.....this place would be like a zoo
Have some class
Resist the temptation
To beg for a review
Because it will leave a permanent mark on you!
That's just what the click whores want you to do!
