Sharper than a needle
Cold against my wrist
My heart rate increases in anticipation
The thrill of watching the crimson flow
How deep, how many
Align the blade
Shut my eyes
Concentrate on the screaming voices in my head
Racing heart beat
They scream louder
I tremble
As the blade cuts through my skin
The voices begin to quiet down
The deeper I go the quieter they become
Until the only sound is the silent scream of my torn skin
As the crimson flows
Warms my skin
My hands stop trembling
My heartbeat slows down
All I see dripping down
Is the emotional pain
I feel a lightness
Yes, for now
I released
Relieved I wipe the blade off
Replace it in it's box
Place my wrist under running water
revel in the sight of crimson as it goes down the drain
There goes all the hurt
Put on a band-aid
Put my bangles on
Wear a smile
and life goes on...
Nobody knows!
