Stephen Katona - The Dolphin Rider

2014-06-16 8

A boy called Hiya,
Felt his heart afire,
Aged just four,
To see a dolphin from the shore.

The dolphin's name was Simo,
Soon this boy's amigo,
Both quite sure,
Their love was pure.

Each day during school,
He'd wait as a rule,
Then leap with joy,
To see the boy.

Different world's colliding,
White waves riding,
A watery rodeo,
To make hearts glow.

In each other's eyes,
They saw no lies.
On sunny afternoons,
Both whistled tunes.

I hope to see tomorrow,
This messenger from Apollo.
I still let out a sigh,
When I look a dolphin in the eye.

I'm sure you'll agree,
It's good to be alive and free.
