Let us leave behind
All means so far that was unkind
We were ruled by invaders
They left behind good system and wonders
We remember Mughal Emperors
Their cultural heritage and good builders
Many to be credited with religious tolerance
National integration with good governance
We do not condemn Royal British rule
They were merchant and remained successful
We are more in territory than what had been in past
The country was changing very fast
No doubt people have sacrificed their lives
They have struggled and certainly believed too
No religious fanatics can succeed any time
Only true and genuine democracy can all the times
Even though political people may try to influence
With their ideology and take chance
But people are educated enough to know
The country shall stand united and allow
Let wind blow in any direction
The people may assert with their participation
There is no room to undermine self rule concept
We are here to witness democracy and assert
