David Harris - When I’m Gone

2014-06-16 15

When I’m gone
what will I miss
the warmth of dawn
with the sun’s first kiss,
the sunset and the sky at night
with the moon and stars
all shining bright.
The four seasons when they call
winter, spring, summer and fall,
the glow around our loving home
that repels all thoughts to roam.
However, I am not going just yet
too much more here to enjoy
before I kick
that preverbal bucket.
