Vibrations bouncing off everything around
Bellowing indecently
Deafening to a degree so painful
Decibels high on the Richter scale
Mellowing with a deft downward touch
Toned down to be just bearable
Lights illuminating concrete and vinyl
Black and white expanding to the eye
This mausoleum is ready
Empty, neglected until moonrise
Hoards waiting in anticipation nearby
Bells of the local church peal the hour
Eight o’clock like demented bats arriving
Descending to do battle
Hips swaying, feet pinioned by the dance
Kaleidoscopic colours flashing fingers ensnaring
Holding these robotic beings in their grasp
Like a swarm of zombies they mingle
Sweat glistening bodies
Musky and stale
Just another disco night at the church hall
