Like roller coasters made of steel
This life’s oft hard to bear
But when we know that God is real
We seek His arm to share
We must beware when climbing high
When living on a chain
For when we think to reach the sky
We’re pulled back down again
It’s Satan’s will to pull us down
To rob us of our goal
He seeks to steal away life’s crown
And kill our very soul
Relish the times when life is up
Receive of Heaven’s pour
Let Jesus’ love fill each our cup
Before we’re down once more
Life’s thrills and spills are many fold
Who knows what’s round the bend?
The devil’s hand, man’s lust for gold
Or Christ as Lord and friend
Satanic rides now decked with fun
Bring thrills beyond compare
But those who ride with Christ God’s Son
Must wait for Heaven’s share
Yet who will wait for that unseen?
What faith alone can bring?
Or will the devil intervene?
With still another fling
The choice is ours with whom to ride
The risk is ours alone
Stand firm when faith on earth is tried
Or die a rolling stone
