Melanie Walendowsky Baker - The Winds That Blow

2014-06-15 12

These feelings rose
from the pit of the storm.
There's nowhere to go now
and yet I'm still warm.

The wind still blows through
the empty places inside.
Sometimes they touch upon
the ones that have died.

You gave me no hope,
no promises, no choice.
Yet I'm filled with your warmth
and the echo of your voice.

You already have the one
who holds you whole.
Yet I took away
the picture of your soul.

To a land far off
and to you still unknown.
Where I remain free
from the winds you have blown.
