Come, I’ll take your hand and go
When dark of night blots out the sky
Like a love struck swain bumbling
I will lead you to familiar, gaudy burrows
In mired floor cafes still wet with spits
Alleys that stalk you like unforgiven wrongs
From feigned conventions and politesse
You turned to rudeness that you couldn’t help
I babbled and you waited for me to quiet down
And then you took my hand and led me in
Oh heavens, I was not denied, once more
Another discomfited tryst of a one night stand.
