A shooting star passed overhead
Through heavens at such speed
Collecting peoples wishes
Giving hope to those in need
For all who viewed its travels
Expectations growing wild
A Roll Royce or a bag of sweets
From an adult or a child
How could it not remember?
No one ever wished for war
But every time a star goes by
There seems to be some more
It flashed beyond a big full moon
I thought that would be good
Until I heard the news that night
There had been another flood
So shooting star takes on my wish
To help all those in trouble
And should you need reminding
Get back here at the double
